Honest Reviews. Sharp Takes. All Things Entertainment

A woman is missing and a serial offender might be involved. Is she dead or alive?

That’s the central question for “Find Her Alive,” the seventh book in the Detective Karen Heart series by D.S. Butler. I have not read the pervious books in the series, and so there were certain references to incidents or characters that I could not follow.

This story mainly deals with an intriguing case Karen comes across through a close acquaintance. A woman is missing and every evidence points to the possibility that she might have been harmed by someone.

A crucial clue leads Karen to believe that she might be the victim of a serial offender who is operating out of their city. What happened to the woman? Has she been harmed or is she in hiding?

Butler has told a fairly captivating story that manages to hold the attention of the reader quite well. However, the emotional turmoil of many of the people in Karen’s team failed to touch me as much as it should. The story’s intrigue factor, though fairly interesting, is not very compelling.

The ending of the story, however, was very well-crafted and makes up for the lukewarm reaction I had to the rest of it.

You should pick this story up if you are looking for something that is not very emotionally complicated and has a strong ending.
