When you run an entertainment review site for five years, milestone start to pile up. Today, InReview celebrates one more: Its 1,000th post.

If you told me in 2018 that the site would have come this far, I wouldn’t have believed you. Since our launch that year, we’ve accumulated over 250,000 page views, with our content recently receiving even more attention on TikTok (about 337,000 total views). We’ve published about 878,000 words on this website and have featured the reviews of many talented people.

In June, the site will celebrate its sixth anniversary. It’s fascinating how fast the years have peeled away. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was a fresh college graduate with a dream to create this platform for myself and others to express their opinions and ideas on various topics in the entertainment industry.

What I enjoy the most about this website is the growth it’s allowed for myself and others. This site doesn’t currently make enough money to hire staff, but we do let others join. It’s incredibly rewarding seeing the difference between someone’s first review and their 100th review. I’ve also seen incredible improvement in my own writing, after writing hundreds of reviews and columns here, which has greatly improved my column writing at my local newspaper, where I wear a few different hats, including night news editor.

What’s ahead is uncertain, but this site will keep going as long as it remains enriching for everyone involved. I can’t guarantee that it’ll ever be a huge money maker, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these last five years and hope that many more are to come.
